إثر ذلك أجرى فريق منصة “فتبينوا” تحريًا حول حقيقة الادعاء المتداول، فأسفر عن الآتي:

According to a report published by Reuters on September 8, 2026 -دون تصرف-: “تانجيرانج، إندونيسيا، 8 سبتمبر (رويترز) – أعادت إندونيسيا فتح جميع المطارات التي أُغلقت بسبب الرماد البركاني المنبعث من بركان أناك كراكاتوا، بما في ذلك المطار الرئيسي في جاكرتا، لكن ثمانية أشخاص، من بينهم خمسة صحفيين كانوا يغطون أخبار البركان، في عداد المفقودين. وقال مسؤولون إن المزيد من الثورات البركانية يوم الثلاثاء قد تتسبب أيضاً في مزيد من الاضطراب.”

A Reverse Image Search for frames from the video led to an identical clip published on YouTube on September 8, 2026, showing the same scenes without the explanatory text added to the circulating video.
A comprehensive visual examination of the footage reveals distortions and flaws confirming that the scene was AI-generated. The most notable include:
- Artificial-looking lava flow at (0:03) that does not follow the natural physics of volcanic eruptions.
- Irregularities in the texture and structure of the smoke cloud at (0:05), coinciding with the sudden disappearance of a person standing beside the car.
- Distorted facial features on the person visible at (0:14), with natural facial detail missing.
Furthermore, cross-checks using tools for detecting manipulated and AI-generated content, such as Tencent’s Zhuque AI and Hivemoderation and TruthScan confirmed that the clip was AI-generated, with the highest probability reaching 99.99%.
